How to make your own granola

Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing with you the easiest, fastest and healthier granola recipe ever! Trust me, if I say fast and healthy, I mean it!

Making your granola has its benefits. I don’t know if you struggle like I do to find some granola that’s not completely filled with sugar, but where I live, even granola for diabetics has some kind of sugar. I know I know, my granola recipe is also sweet, but I don’t know why, I prefer to be the one to decide where my sugar comes from.

Granola is a wonderful way of eating healthy, with a variety of fiber, healthy fats with an amazing taste! Keep in mind this is just 1 way to do it, you can always add diferent ingredients and change whatever you feel like.

So for this recipe here’s the ingredients you will need

  • 4 cups Oats
  • 1 cup raw nuts and/or seeds (like almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds etc.)
  • 1 tbsp spice (cinnamon, pumpkin spice, or even cardamom)
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried fruit (I used mango)
  • 1 pinch of salt ( Don’t overdo!)
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 sweet ( I used Agave which is a nectar from a plant, it’s like honey from plants basically)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp flavour (you can use almond extract, vanilla extract, etc.)

Here the difficult part:

Just messin’ with you! There’s no such thing in this recipe!

Just mix the wet ingredients together in a bowl, mix the dry ingredients in a different bowl except for the dried fruit, and then pour the wet on to the dry and mix them well, making sure you don’t get chunks of wet granola and then lots of dry parts!

When everything is properly mixed, spread it in a tray and bake it at 150ºC until golden.

Keep an eye on it and mixed it in a bit half way baking so everything gets some color. Once it’s cold, add the dried fruit and IT’S DONE! Could it be an easier?? I love it!

If you’re not sure how to eat the granola here are some ideas:

#1 – Yogurt

You can always add some fresh fruit and some yogurt and you’re good to go! I eat it all the time! This really gets rid of my need for sugar! If you’re vegan just have some soy yogurt or coconut yogurt!

#2 – Milk

Just as the yogurt, pour some into a bowl, add some fruit (or not!) and breakfast is ready!! If you are lactose intolerant or vegan you can always have some almond milk, some soy milk. Nowadays there’s a lot of milk substitutes!

#3 – Afternoon snack!

This is the most amazing solution for my sugar craving. It tastes sweet, it’s crunchy and tasty! just bring a little container with a bit of your home made granola and have an afternoon snack. Don’t overdo it though, there’s no need to get so full you won’t even have room for dinner!

#4 – Granola Bars!

If you just want to change thing ups a bit or if it is easier for you to carry bars instead of the granola, just add some blended dates, mix it in your granola, spread it on tray and leave it there for the night. Next morning just cut it and you have granola bars!

Hope you enjoy your homemade Granola!

Let me know what where the ingrediets you used and how you liked it!

Don’t forget to be HAPPY! ❤
